Clackmannanshire Council has agreed to sell the former Zones Leisure Centre to Alloa Athletic Football Club, which plans to refurbish the pitches and provide leisure facilities.
The Centre was closed last year and councillors decided to market the building with a view to investing proceeds from the sale into existing leisure and cultural facilities.
Four offers were received which were considered at last week's Council meeting. Councillors decided to proceed with the offer from Alloa Athletic.
The plans involve investing up to £450,000 in the building.
Short term proposals include resurfacing outdoor pitches and installing upgraded playing surfaces in the main indoor halls, refurbishing changing and reception areas and updating heating and ventilation.
The facility will also offer a 50% subsidy on its prices, up to a total of £40,000 a year, for various groups. The subsidy will be administered by the Council and will apply to people who have increased need under the access to leisure policy, such as the elderly, disabled, those living in areas of deprivation, children and students.
Councillor Bobby McGill, spokesperson for leisure, said: "We're delighted to have had four high quality offers for the Zones building.
"The community involvement aspect of Alloa Athletic's bid was key and we look forward to working closely in partnership with them."
The proposals allow Clackmannan District Brass Band, who have a long term lease on the band hall part of the Zones building, to continue to be accommodated there.
