BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out a series of resurfacing schemes at multiple locations on the A83 between Tarbert and Inveraray from Wednesday 29 July.
Crews will operate between 7pm and 6am on working nights, with completion anticipated by Thursday 20 August. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights.
The programme will be delivered in phases at the following sites and dates:
- A83 West Loch Shores: Wednesday 29 July until the morning of Friday 31 July
- A83 Corranbuie: Sunday 2 August until the morning of Tuesday 4 August
- A83 Erines Bends: Tuesday 4 August until the morning of Wednesday 5 August
- A83 South of Minard: Wednesday 5 August until the morning of Tuesday 11 August
- A83 North of Minard: Tuesday 11 August until the morning of Wednesday 12 August
- A83 Loch Fyne Spa (Inveraray): Wednesday 12 August until the morning of Friday 14 August
- A83 West of Dunderave Cottage: Sunday 16 August until the morning of Thursday 20 August
To safeguard road users and the workforce, traffic management will be in place at each location. Except at the site south of Minard, the A83 will be closed overnight on working nights, with hourly amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am to escort queued traffic through the work area.
At the site south of Minard, vehicles will be led through the works by a convoy vehicle at 10mph under temporary traffic light control.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout. BEAR Scotland has consulted relevant stakeholders to advise them of the arrangements and reduce disruption where possible.
