Essential resurfacing on the A721 Carnwath Road in Carluke will require a section of the route to be closed for up to four days this month.
The works are scheduled to begin on Tuesday 21 July and will cover the stretch between Stanistone Road and Crawfordwalls Bridge.
Traffic will be diverted via the A721, A706, A73, Glamis Avenue and Chapel Street, and vice versa.
Colin Park, the council's Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, said: “Unfortunately, it is not feasible allow any vehicles onto this section of Carnwath Road while the resurfacing is being carried out, and we therefore urge all road users to take notice of this closure and think how it might affect their journeys, and then plan ahead and allow extra time for travelling if necessary.
"We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to people in the area, but their patience and understanding during these four days would be much appreciated. I know everyone who uses Carnwath Road will see a benefit in the improved condition of the surface as a result of the works."
