Grampian Housing Association has appointed David Fisher as its new group chief executive, succeeding Craig Stirrat who is due to retire later this year.
Fisher will take up the role in August 2026 following a competitive recruitment process. The housing association said the Board’s recruitment panel selected him based on his extensive experience, leadership background and commitment to customer-focused housing services.
Fisher brings more than 25 years' experience in the housing sector across Scotland, England and Australia, including more than 15 years as a chief executive. He most recently served as chief executive officer of Housing Choices Australia, where he oversaw 8,000 homes, assets valued at more than £750 million and programmes aimed at expanding affordable housing provision.
He previously led Housing Plus, an Australian regional housing, homelessness and community services organisation, and Equity Housing Group in England.
Speaking about his appointment, he said: "I am delighted to be joining Grampian Housing Association and would like to thank the Board for the confidence they have placed in me.
"Grampian has a well-deserved reputation as a high performing, customer focused organisation with a strong commitment to its customers, communities and colleagues. Those values resonate strongly with me.
"I am looking forward to meeting colleagues across the organisation, listening, learning and understanding what makes Grampian such a respected organisation. I believe good housing changes lives and the best organisations are those where colleagues, customers and partners work together to create stronger communities.
"Together, I look forward to building on Grampian's many strengths and helping shape the next chapter of its success."
