£400K Investment In Tryst

North Lanarkshire Leisure is to carry out major improvements at the Tryst Sports Centre, Cumbernauld.

Councillor Jim Logue, Chair of North Lanarkshire Leisure, said: "New state of the art range of fitness equipment provided by Technogym will be installed. Technogym has been sole supplier to the Olympics since 2000 and described By the IOC as best in class. The world's best athletes use Technogym equipment and so will NLL and our customers.

"The main gym at the Tryst will be extended to increase the range of equipment and work out space available to customers. It's a clear demonstration that North Lanarkshire Leisure is committed to getting more people more active more often."

New state-of-the-art gym equipment will be installed, changing areas and toilet and shower areas will be refurbished, and new lockers will be installed.

All cardio-vascular kit includes market leading enhanced functionality such as LCD interactive TV screens for personal audio and visual entertainment, fully integrated I Pod technology, heart rate technology, choice of motivational exercise programmes to suit all fitness needs.

The cardio-vascular range includes the new leading edge equipment such the Cardio Wave which is the only product of its kind on the market which provides unique full lower body work out experience and the TOP machine which provides and alternative upper body experience

To improve customer choice the Tryst will feature elements of the Kinesis range which is a cable system with 360 degree pulley system which offers resistance training over a range of movement positions to maximise training opportunities.

In order to carry out these improvements, the gym areas will be closed from 17 November until 3 January. Customers will be able to use the gyms at nearby Broadwood Stadium and Iain Nicolson Centre.
