Atrium Homes, the Kilmarnock based registered social landlord, recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary in style with a charity ball at the Park Hotel, Kilmarnock.
Among the many guests welcomed by Jim Currie, JP, MBE the Chair of Atrium Homes, were former Secretary of State for Defence and Scotland, Des Browne the Member of Parliament for the Kilmarnock and Loudon constituency, Cllr Kathy Morrice, Cllr Robert McDill and Bill Stafford Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services at East Ayrshire Council.
The guests heard Stephen Black, Director of Atrium Homes outline the history of the company in a speech entitled "10 Years of Atrium... in 10 minutes".
Atrium currently owns over 850 properties across East and South Ayrshire and has a further 150 new properties in development. It only acquired its first housing stock in 2000 but in the past 8 years the company has doubled in value, gained recognition through winning several Ayrshire Business Awards, including the Business Excellence Award and achieved Investor In People accreditation. In the process Atrium has established itself as one of the leading registered social landlords in the region.
The event at the Park Hotel marked Atrium's achievements but also acted as a fundraiser for the Neo Natal and Renal Units at Crosshouse Hospital. Stephen Black explained: "We wanted to mark the anniversary in a special way and a Charity Ball seemed perfect. A number of our contractors and consultants very generously agreed to sponsor part of the event, whilst others made charitable donations. A prize draw on the night raised another £1,000, taking our overall total raised to £2,723. And of course everyone had a great time in the process!"
