Bancon Group has been announced as a finalist in the Culture Transformation Project of the Year category at the upcoming cHeRries Awards. The nomination marks a significant milestone in the company's ongoing efforts to evolve its business through a dedicated culture transformation programme driven by collective staff participation.
The cHeRries Awards are designed to honour excellence in human resources, people development, and organisational culture specifically across the North of Scotland. Bancon's inclusion as a finalist highlights its strategic shift toward becoming a more modern, people-focused, and high-performing organisation.
Throughout the last 12 to 18 months, the Group has implemented a diverse range of initiatives to bolster employee engagement and professional development. These efforts are centred on the company's core values: One Team, We Care, We Trust, Sustainability, and Development. Key components of the programme have included new leadership development schemes, enhanced internal communication channels, and various wellbeing initiatives.
A primary focus of this transformation has been the empowerment of staff across all sectors of the business, including construction, housebuilding, timber frame manufacturing, and support functions. By encouraging collaboration, the Group aims to ensure all employees feel connected to the wider corporate purpose.
Donna Fraser, Group HR Director, People & Culture, commented: "This recognition reflects a genuine team effort across the entire business. Our culture transformation has been built on the ideas, energy and commitment of our people. While we are proud of the progress made, this is very much an ongoing journey as we continue to build a culture that supports both our people and our long-term ambitions."
The final winners of the cHeRries Awards will be revealed during a ceremony scheduled for June 2026. Bancon Group has expressed its gratitude to the judging panel and credited the achievement to the shared commitment and continuous improvement efforts of its entire workforce.
