Statom North has been awarded the concrete frame build package by design-and-build contractor McAleer & Rushe for the new Haymarket Hotel development in the heart of Edinburgh, bolstering the firm's Scottish portfolio and its record for safe, high‑quality, efficient delivery on complex city-centre schemes.
The project comprises two reinforced-concrete structures, known as Building B2 and Building B3, featuring demanding structural elements and forming a key component of the wider regeneration of the Haymarket district.
Building B2 will provide three stair/lift cores, five storeys plus a roof level, and a large double‑height atrium.
Building B3 will include three stair/lift cores, seven storeys plus a roof, and ground-floor transfer structures.
Statom North's scope covers cores, slabs, vertical elements, transfer structures and associated works, delivered in coordination with stakeholders in a busy urban environment.
The package involves 5,600m³ of concrete, 1,000 tonnes of reinforcement, and 30,000m² of falsework and formwork.
The company will deploy experienced engineering, operations and safety teams to deliver the works, with newly appointed Regional Operations Manager Barry McGuire supporting the project.
Kevin Graham, Managing Director, Statom North, commented: "We are delighted to be selected by McAleer & Rushe for this landmark development in Edinburgh. The Haymarket Hotel is an exciting, high-profile project, and this award reflects the strong working relationship and trust built between our teams. Our expertise in delivering complex concrete frame structures aligns perfectly with the demands of this scheme, and we look forward to contributing to a project that will help shape the future of the Haymarket area."
