The £38 million purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme, St Vincent Studios, at 292 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, has officially topped out, marking a major milestone.
The 16-floor development is being delivered by GRAHAM on behalf of Artisan Real Estate and Housing Growth Partnership (HGP), and is scheduled for completion in summer 2026, ahead of the new academic year.
St Vincent Studios will provide 321 state-of-the-art studio apartments and a range of facilities designed for Glasgow's growing student population, including study areas, a gym, a cinema room, roof terraces, and secure cycle storage for 160 bikes.
The project is transforming a long-vacant city centre site, formerly occupied by a 1970s office building that had been empty since 2019. Once complete, the location will place students within walking distance of institutions such as the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow School of Art.
William Ross, contracts director at GRAHAM Building, said the firm was "proud to be transforming a long-vacant site into modern accommodation that will support both Glasgow's students and the wider regeneration of the city centre".
David Westwater, Development Director for Scotland at Artisan Real Estate, noted the site meets the "urgent need for high-quality student accommodation in the city," particularly for individual studio apartments.
Homes for Students, the UK's largest third-party student management company, will operate the building. They were represented at the Wednesday, 8 October topping-out ceremony alongside Turner & Townsend and Hawkins Brown Architects. The development is the second joint venture between Artisan Real Estate and HGP, which, according to HGP Investment Director Colin Bennett, "underscores our confidence in the PBSA sector."
