Cruden Homes has secured planning permission for its first development in Fife in over a decade.
The new development in the fishing village of Pittenweem will deliver 39 new homes.
Located on James Street, on the north-eastern edge of the village, the project includes 36 new-build homes and three sensitively restored homes through the conversion of the Category C-listed St Margaret’s Farm steading. The new-build mix provides 30 private homes and six affordable terraced homes.
The homes are designed in a traditional architectural style to echo the character of the area, featuring sash and case windows, render window surrounds, and chimneys. The development will also incorporate a wide range of sustainability measures, including air source heat pumps in every property, multiple EV charging stations, and biodiversity enhancements like bat boxes and wildflower planting.
Fraser Lynes, Managing Director of Cruden Homes, said the company was proud to be the housebuilder taking the project forward, noting that the site had been part of the local development plan for nearly 30 years. He added that the design places "sustainability and quality at its core."
Work on the James Street site is expected to begin later this year.
