The refurbished Bught Park in Inverness was officially reopened on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, by Kirsty McNeill, UK Government Minister for Scotland.
The £9.6 million project marks a major milestone in the transformation of one of the city's most important community and sporting venues.
The work, delivered by main contractor Clark Contracts, involved the refurbishment and preservation of the historic grandstand, the addition of new changing facilities, and the construction of a new pavilion. The project also included improved spectator amenities and upgraded hospitality and events spaces.
Michael Scanlan, Director at Clark Contracts, said the company was proud to have delivered the refurbishment, which preserves the venue’s historic character while creating "modern, high-quality facilities." He added that the new facilities will benefit players, spectators, and visitors "for generations to come."
The project is part of a wider programme of investment in the area, supported by almost £20m from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund. The investment aims to strengthen Inverness’s sporting and cultural offer, safeguard heritage assets, attract visitors to the Highlands, and contribute to a carbon-neutral future.
