Work has started on 34 new homes for social rent and two commercial units in Glasgow's Gallowgate area.
The homes are being built for Wheatley Homes Glasgow by CCG (Scotland) Ltd on the site of a former car park.
The new six-storey development, which is being part-funded by Glasgow City Council, is a £9.3 million project. All of the flats will have two bedrooms, with three being wheelchair adaptable. The building will feature energy-saving measures, including air-source heat pump systems, to help keep energy bills low for residents.
Lindsay Lauder, Wheatley Group's Director of Development and Regeneration, said there is a "huge demand" for affordable housing in Glasgow and that the project will help to "transform communities."
Councillor Ruairi Kelly, Convener for Housing and Development at Glasgow City Council, said the development will "meet the needs of a range of people and families" and will bring a vacant brownfield site "back to productive use for the city."
