Stephenson Halliday has announced the appointment of Julia Frost as a Director and Adam McConaghy as a Principal Planner to its Edinburgh office, marking a significant step in the company's expansion and growth strategy in Scotland.
Julia Frost brings extensive experience from her previous roles as Planning Director at both Scott Hobbs Planning and Turley, while Adam McConaghy joins from Iceni Projects, where he focused on securing planning consents across various sectors.
At Stephenson Halliday, Julia will be responsible for leading key residential, commercial, and tourism projects, as well as building on the office's existing client base, with a particular focus on renewable energy.
In a statement, Julia said she was "delighted to be joining Stephenson Halliday at a time of significant expansion and growth, helping expand its enviable planning track record in renewable energy and grow its commercial sector repertoire in Scotland." Adam McConaghy will be involved in growing the office's client base across various commercial sectors and delivering existing projects in the renewable energy and infrastructure fields.
The appointments are part of a wider growth strategy, which follows the appointment of Lisa Russell as Scotland's Lead Planning and EIA Director in 2022. Lisa Russell commented that Julia and Adam were "very welcome additions" to the team and that their expertise "further strengthens our offering." The arrival of the new planners sees the Scottish team grow to seven, which, according to Lisa, reflects the company's continued investment in providing clients with top-tier planning and environmental advice. Adam Perry, Managing Director of Stephenson Halliday, also expressed his delight, noting that the company is "seeing increased need for our services" in Scotland.
