Scotland Excel has announced a two-year extension for its first-generation Property Maintenance and Refurbishment framework. This decision will ensure that councils and housing associations across Scotland can continue to efficiently procure a wide array of services required for the upkeep and refurbishment of their properties.
Launched two years ago, the framework successfully brought together 87 approved suppliers, of which 85 are Scottish-based companies, including 52 Scottish SMEs and 22 micro businesses. This extension underscores Scotland Excel's commitment to supporting local businesses and providing streamlined procurement routes for the public sector.
The two-year extension means that councils and associate members will maintain straightforward access to a robust network of qualified contractors ready to undertake various works. To simplify the connection between public sector organisations and high-quality contractors, the framework is meticulously divided into 15 distinct lots: Bathrooms; Electrical; Fencing and gates; Flooring; Heating; Joinery; Kitchens; Painting and decorating; Plastering and ceramic tiling works; Plumbing; Renewables; Roofing; Ventilation; Windows and doors; Multi trades.
The Property Maintenance and Refurbishment framework is an integral part of Scotland Excel’s specialist construction and property management portfolio. This comprehensive portfolio offers Scottish public bodies a full suite of specialist construction contracts covering every stage of the property management lifecycle.
A key benefit of this framework is its provision of ready-to-use terms and conditions and a ‘direct award’ route. This allows members to engage directly with a contractor who meets their internal requirements without the need to conduct a mini-competition, offering an efficient and effective route to market for public sector organisations.
