Barratt Redrow has announced the appointment of Andy Curran as the new Managing Director for its West Scotland division.
Curran, 44, from Lanark, South Lanarkshire, officially stepped into the role on June 2nd, 2025. He will be responsible for overseeing all divisional operations, from land acquisition and planning to construction, sales, and customer care, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality homes and driving sustainable growth while maintaining Barratt's five-star housebuilder reputation.
Curran brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously served as Regional Managing Director at Springfield Properties Central. His career progression includes roles as Regional Operations Director and Commercial Director, a position he assumed in 2011. He is passionate about overseeing developments from their inception to the creation of new communities, always prioritising high standards in quality and customer service.
Andy Curran expressed his enthusiasm: "Joining the country's number one housebuilder is a huge opportunity for me. Barratt Redrow has a great reputation in the industry, and I look forward to building on West Scotland's strong performance and success. With a solid growth plan in place for the next few years, this is a really exciting time to join the team."
Alison Condie, Barratt Redrow's Regional Managing Director for Scotland, welcomed Curran: "Andy brings an abundance of experience to the role and will be instrumental to West Scotland's growth and success in the coming months. His commitment to delivering high quality homes and first-class customer service, as well as driving team morale, aligns with our vision and business values and we have no doubt the region will thrive under his leadership."
In his initial six months, Curran will prioritise understanding the business and building strong relationships with employees at all levels, aiming to champion career progression and foster a positive working environment. Having started his own career as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor in 2003, he is particularly keen on providing young people with early opportunities in the industry, highlighting the diverse career paths available from architecture to surveying and sales.
Despite ongoing industry challenges, Curran remains optimistic, predicting market stabilisation in 2025 due to expected reductions in interest and mortgage rates, leading to improved affordability. He anticipates stronger economic performance and growth across the housebuilding sector from 2026 onwards. Balancing his professional commitments, Andy enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two young children, including walking and cycling, and is an avid golfer.
