Scotland Excel has announced a two-year extension to its first-generation Property Maintenance and Refurbishment framework. This extension will ensure that councils and housing associations across Scotland can continue to easily source a comprehensive range of services required for property refurbishment and maintenance.
Launched two years ago, the framework successfully brought together 52 Scottish SMEs, including 22 micro businesses, among its total of 87 approved suppliers. Notably, 85 of these companies are based in Scotland, reinforcing local economic support.
The two-year extension means that public sector organisations will maintain convenient access to a wide network of contractors ready to undertake various works. To simplify the procurement process, the framework is divided into 15 specific lots, allowing members to connect with high-quality contractors for their precise needs. These lots cover: Bathrooms; Electrical; Fencing and gates; Flooring; Heating; Joinery; Kitchens; Painting and decorating; Plastering and ceramic tiling works; Plumbing; Renewables; Roofing; Ventilation; Windows and doors; Multi trades.
The Property Maintenance and Refurbishment framework is a key component of Scotland Excel's specialist construction and property management portfolio, which offers public bodies a full suite of contracts spanning the entire property management cycle. It provides ready-to-use terms and conditions and a "direct award" route, enabling members to engage directly with a contractor that meets their internal requirements without needing to conduct a mini-competition. This streamlined approach offers an efficient and effective route to market for Scotland Excel members.
