The finalists for the 18th annual Scottish Home Awards, sponsored by Ross & Liddell, have been announced today (Wednesday, 7 May 2025).
Following a rigorous judging session last week where a panel of industry experts reviewed over 140 entries, a strong shortlist has been selected across 19 diverse award categories.
The nominations reflect the breadth and quality of residential development across Scotland, encompassing ambitious regeneration projects, outstanding affordable housing developments, and innovative design. Winners will be revealed at the awards dinner on Thursday, 19th June 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow Central. The event is expected to bring together hundreds of housing industry leaders for an evening of celebration and recognition.
Among the many finalists, notable construction and development companies feature prominently. For Show Home of the Year, contenders include Ashberry Homes for Five Mills, Auchendinny; Barratt Homes West Scotland for The Balloch, Cornhill Village; Briar Homes Limited (Scotland) for Meadowood, Garthamlock; Cala Homes (West) for The Darroch, Hamilton; CCG Homes with Get Fully Furnished for The Scholars, Greenock; and David Wilson Homes West Scotland for The Falkland, Cornhill Village. Diamond Property Developments, Kelvin Properties, Kirkwood Homes Ltd, Miller Homes, Robertson Homes, and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland also have show homes shortlisted.
In the Social Housing Development of the Year (Social Rent under 100 units) category, finalists include Bancon Construction & Property Developer with Aberdeen City Council for Kaimhill Housing Project; Campion Homes for Charleston, Dundee and Manse Road, Springfield; and Campion Homes & Kingdom Housing Association for Kinross Road, Leslie. Other shortlisted projects in this category involve CCG (Scotland) for Brandon Street (with North Lanarkshire Council) and Bearsden Road (with Partick Housing Association), Cruden Group for projects in Earlston and Bonnyrigg, and McTaggart Construction with Wheatley Group for Beatlie Road, Winchburgh. The City of Edinburgh Council, Anderson Bell + Christie and CCG (Scotland) are nominated for Granton Station View, while West Dunbartonshire Council and CCG (Scotland) are recognised for Clydebank East.
The Apartment Development of the Year (Private Sale), sponsored by Porcelanosa UK, sees David Wilson Homes West Scotland, Diamond Property Developments, Dundas Estates, Kelvin Properties, S1 Developments, Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association, and Urban Union among the finalists.
For Social Housing Development of the Year (over 100 units), nominations include Bancon Construction & Property Developer with Aberdeen City Council for Cloverhill; Cruden Group with Wheatley Group for West Craigs 4&5; Harbour Homes Scotland, Cairn Housing Association, and CCG Scotland for Chestnut Street, Edinburgh; and The City of Edinburgh Council and CCG (Scotland) for Western Village, Edinburgh.
Several CCG (Scotland) projects received multiple nominations. Western Villages and Granton Station View in Edinburgh, both delivered for The City of Edinburgh Council and focusing on 'net zero ready' homes with innovative heating, are shortlisted in categories including Innovation in Design. Chestnut Street, a Harbour Homes Scotland and Cairn Housing Association project also involving CCG Scotland, is recognised in Housing Regeneration Project of the Year.
The Housing Regeneration Project of the Year, sponsored by Bank of Scotland, includes Govan Housing Group with Collective Architecture & CCG (Scotland) for Water Row; Harbour Homes Scotland, Cairn Housing Association, CCG Scotland for Chestnut Street; and The City of Edinburgh Council and CCG (Scotland) for Western Villages and Granton Station View, among others.
In the prestigious Housebuilder of the Year (More than 100 units) category, sponsored by Openreach, finalists include Barratt Homes & David Wilson Homes West Scotland, Cala Group, Campion Homes, CCG (Scotland), McTaggart Construction Ltd, Miller Homes, Robertson Homes, and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland. CCG (Scotland) is also a finalist for Excellence in Sustainability, a category they won in 2024.
Other key categories include Housing Development of the Year (Small and Large, Private Sale), Renovation of the Year, Starter Home of the Year, and Excellence in Customer Service. A full list of finalists across all 19 categories is available on the Scottish Home Awards website.
