Fife Council has revealed the new design for the Denfield Avenue play area in Cardenden following a consultation with local residents.
The £100,000 project is being funded by the Scottish Government.
Over 70 local people participated in the public consultation, and the final design has incorporated their suggestions and preferences.
The preferred design for the upgraded play park includes a five-way swing, a boogie spinner, animal springers, a double car, and a two-tower rope bridge. As a direct result of the community feedback, Fife Council has also decided to add toddler swings to the main swing set and install football goals on the adjacent grass field.
The tender process for the play area is expected to commence in May, and the new facility is anticipated to open later this year, subject to weather conditions.
Councillor Linda Erksine, Fife Council's spokesperson for communities, expressed her gratitude to those who participated in the consultation. "A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation to let us know what they would like to see in the new play area," she said. "The new equipment will be suitable and is accessible for everyone. I look forward to the new play area opening later this year."
