Dundee City Council is set to invest over £500,000 in upgrading play areas across the city.
Plans for the upgrades, which include proposals for Pitairlie Park, Longhaugh Road, and several other locations, will be considered by the Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure Committee on Monday 17th February.
The proposed improvements include the installation of new and inclusive play equipment, such as springies, climbing units, and sensory panels, as well as enhancements to existing facilities.
"These are tremendous plans to encourage families get outside and be active across our communities," said Councillor Steven Rome, Convener of the Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure Committee. "This will have real benefits for both physical and mental health."
The council has incorporated local feedback into the design of the play areas, ensuring that the equipment is inclusive and accessible for all children.
Work on the upgrades is expected to commence in March and be completed by June.
The committee will also consider a sourcing strategy for the procurement of play equipment for Longhaugh Road, Pitairlie Road, and Baxter Park, which is expected to save approximately 20%.
