HFD, Scotland's leading commercial property company, has appointed Chris McGhee as the new commercial lead for its construction business. With over 25 years of industry experience, McGhee will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, sustainable building projects across Scotland.
McGhee brings a wealth of expertise from his previous roles at Balfour Beatty, Kier Group, and ISG. His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, defence, aviation, and hospitality. At ISG, he worked on notable projects such as Diageo, Cameron House, and Gleneagles Townhouse.
In his new position at HFD, McGhee will support the delivery of the company's ambitious construction programme, which includes iconic developments like 177 Bothwell Street and 122 Waterloo Street in Glasgow. Currently, the team is focused on the redevelopment of Aurora, a sustainable office building that sets new standards for energy efficiency and environmental impact.
HFD's construction division has a proven track record of delivering over three million square feet of commercial property. The company's commitment to sustainability and innovation is evident in every project, from office and industrial spaces to retail developments.
Chris McGhee said: "I've watched and admired HFD from afar throughout my career, so it's great to have the chance to work with such an innovative company with a market-leading offering. My experience spans a range of projects for a mix of clients but underpinning all is the commitment to adding value and maintaining the highest quality throughout aspects of energy efficiency, technology, and design. The diversity of HFD's business will also open up new opportunities in areas such as renewables and IT and data, and I'm looking forward to working closely with William and the rest of the team."
William Hill, CEO of HFD, said: "With his experience and knowledge in the construction sector, Chris makes a great addition to the team. As commercial director, he will support the delivery of our core development projects, maintaining our commitment to low-carbon, sustainable construction and best-in-class spaces."
