Renfrewshire Council has taken ownership of more than half of the new-build, energy-efficient homes being constructed in Paisley's Ferguslie Park.
A total of 101 new homes are being built on the site of the former St Fergus Primary School, with 64 completed home now handed over to the council. Work on the development is expected to be complete by July.
The development will be populated with residents of the nearby Tannahill, which once complete, will be demolished and clear for for housing redevelopment, past of a wider, five-year, community-led masterplan.
During a visit to the site, Cllr Marie McGurk, convener of the council's Communities and Housing Policy Board, said: "Our officers have worked closely with the Ferguslie community over the past few years to allow local residents to lead the regeneration of the area and to make sure the new homes were designed around their feedback.
"It's an area with a tight-knit sense of community - and with many residents moving into the new-builds from the old Tannahill estate, we hope that community spirit will stay intact.
"This is just one part of the much wider investment we are making in modern energy-efficient housing across the area as we deliver on our wider ambitions to make Renfrewshire a more attractive and more sustainable place to live."
The main contractor on the building project is Glasgow-based housebuilder AS Homes.
