Perth-based construction firm Algo has announced that they are looking to appoint both a new Site Manager and Trainee Site Manager.
Algo projects extend across Scotland, primarily within the North, East and across the Central Belt, while their client's projects cover a wide range of business sectors in Scotland.
Site Manager
Key roles and responsibilities will include –
• Responsible for the co-ordination and control of projects from site start to completion including handover to client
• Day to day management of operations on site ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion meeting the time, budget and quality constraints
• Liaising with Senior Management/Directors relating to the works programme and project development
• Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays
• Ensuring work being carried out complies with building regulations, Health and Safety legislation and any other applicable legal requirements
• Liaising with Senior Management, Directors, Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and clients throughout the course of the project
• Ensuring adequate labour and subcontract resources are available on site by liaising with Senior Management and Directors
• Supervise, manage and motivate all site teams including effective management of sub-contractor activities
• Carrying out tool box talks, site inductions and Health and Safety briefings to site operatives and sub-contractors
The successful candidate will have –
• Proven experience in a similar role within a main build contractor environment
• Self driven and results oriented
• Good planner and able to assess own performance
• Reliable, tolerant, team player, creative and solution focused
• Strong communication skills
• Well presented and professional
• People management skills
• SMSTS or equivalent certification
• CSCS card
• Full driving licence essential

Trainee Site Manager
Working alongside one of our experienced Site Managers, the key roles and responsibilities will include –
• Supporting the Site Manager in the co-ordination of projects from site start to completion
• Overseeing day to day operations on site ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion meeting the time, budget and quality constraints
• Liaising with Site Managers, Senior Management & Directors relating to the works programme and project development
• Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays
• Ensuring work being carried out complies with building regulations, Health and Safety legislation and any other applicable legal requirements
• Supporting the Site Manager with correspondence with Senior Management, Directors, Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and clients throughout the course of the project
• Ensuring required labour and subcontract resources are communicated with Site Manager
• Supervise, manage and motivate all site team including management of sub-contractor activities
• Carrying out tool box talks, site inductions and Health and Safety briefings to site operatives and sub-contractors
The successful candidate will have –
• Proven experience in a Site Supervisory or Site Foreman role OR a Graduate Groundwork/Civil Engineering background looking to transfer to Site Management
• A construction related qualification or come from a trade background
• Self driven and results oriented
• Good planner and able to assess own performance
• Reliable, tolerant, team player, creative and solution focused
• Strong communication skills
• Well presented and professional
• SSSTS or equivalent certification would be advantageous but not essential
• CSCS card would be advantageous
• Full driving licence essential
