Two CCG developments have been named as winners at the annual Glasgow Institute for Architects (GIA) awards.
Bell Street, the conversion of the former Bell Street Stables building located in the Merchant City, was awarded the coveted 'special' award for conservation, whilst Maryhill Locks, a private housing development delivered on behalf of Bigg Regeneration, took home the award for Best Residential (Large).
Each project was completed in 2019; both contrasting in their design and form. Bell Street Stables was designed by Collective Architecture and involved the conservation of the former Victorian building to create 54 one and two-bedroom apartments on behalf of GHA and Lowther Homes, members of the Wheatley Group. Maryhill Locks, a new build development, forms part of the Maryhill Locks Masterplan and consists of 33 three and four-bedroom townhouses – constructed offsite using CCG's enhanced 'iQ' Timber System – designed by JM Architects.
CCG congratulated their architectural partners on winning their respective awards.
