The newly refurbished Dunoon Queen's Hall has officially opened its doors.
The Hall hosted its first public events with a concert by Skipinnish on Friday, 27 July, shortly followed by ABBA Mania the next evening.
Principal Contractor, McLaughlin & Harvey, carried out the £12 million works, which saw the main auditorium completely refurbished to include retractable seating, new lighting and audio visual facilities and the ability to divide the area for different functions.
A new café and catering facilities were also provided, with the flexibility to cater for a variety of events including weddings, exhibitions and meetings. A fitness and training suite is located on site and the building also houses the new library and the offices of Skills Development Scotland. Additionally, a children's soft play area is included, along with a new road layout and public realm.
The project is part of the £30m 'CHORD' programme to assist regeneration and economic development in the five waterfront towns of Campbeltown, Helensburgh, Oban, Rothesay and Dunoon.
The venue will host a sold-out performance by The Proclaimers this Friday, 03 August.
