Plans have been submitted to build nearly 30 new homes in Glasgow.
Urban Union is proposing to develop 28 new units on a section of derelict land on Bedford Street.
The scheme forms part of the Laurieston Living development, a £100 million four-phase revitalisation project being carried out in the area over a nine-year period.
Phase 1A involved the construction of 201 new homes for social rent for New Gorbals Housing Association, while Phase 1B involved the creation of 108 homes – 39 for mid-market rent for New Gorbals Housing Association and 69 for private sale for Urban Union.
Phase 1C and Phase 2, currently under construction, will deliver 55 new 'affordable' apartments for New Gorbals Housing Association and 173 private homes for sale.
Anderson Bell and Christie is serving as architects on the second phase of Laurieston and submitted plans for 28 homes at Bedford Street on behalf of Urban Union.
Neil McKay, Managing Director of Urban Union, said: "Laurieston Living has been a huge success since launching and hundreds of families are now enjoying the benefits of high-quality accommodation in an excellent location.
"The demand for more homes in the area is strong and that is why we have submitted a planning application for new units on Bedford Street. This will create significant opportunities for the local community, and will enhance the ongoing regeneration of the Gorbals."
Mark Sneddon at Anderson Bell and Christie, said: "Following our successful partnership with Urban Union to deliver 173 units as part of the larger Laurieston masterplan, we were delighted to collaborate once again on proposals for 28 units on the former MOT site situated between Gorbals Street and Bedford Lane."
A decision on the application is expected in March.
