Work is continuing on a £5 million water infrastructure upgrade project in the Innellan area of Argyll & Bute.
Scottish Water alliance partner aBV is carrying out work to improve and protect the coastal waters around the Holy Loch and parts of the Firth of Clyde.
The scheme involves installing a number of septic tanks at locations in the Toward, Rhu, Kilmun, and Strone areas. So far, work in the Toward area has been completed and the work in the Rhu and Kilmun areas is underway. Work in Strone is due to start in December.
The tanks will ensure waste water collected from local homes and businesses is treated to a high standard and prevent the discharge of untreated water into coastal waters.
Overall, around 350 metres of pipework will be installed in the Innellan area to connect the existing network to an existing septic tank.
To continue the project safely, temporary traffic lights will be in place along a section of the Shore Road, Innellan (A815) for around four months from 08 November.
The work in Rhu, which includes the installation of a septic tank and a new sewer on the A814 between Torwoodhill and HMNB Clyde over about five months, has been planned so that it requires only single lane closures and no full road closures. Temporary traffic lights are being controlled manually at peak times.
Elsewhere, work in Kilmun started in September and is expected to finish in around 10 months. The scheme includes the installation of a septic tank and has been designed so that no full road closures are required. Temporary traffic lights are being operated on Shore Road.
Scottish Water said it would like to thank all affected road users for their patience and understanding while the work progresses.
