Work to install new water pipelines at a village in the Scottish Highlands is now complete.
Morrison Construction has finished building 500 metres of twin pipeline beneath Stuart Street in Ardersier.
The new pipes are designed to carry wastewater from planned developments at Tornagrain, Inverness Airport Business Park and Castle Stuart to the waste water treatment works between Ardersier and Fort George, which is being upgraded by Scottish Water.
Installation of the pipelines has also been completed along the coastal path between Stuart Street and the Dolphin Bay Suites; and reinstatement activity will continue in this area until grass is re-established. Further pipeline work is resuming this week alongside the coastal path, starting from the boardwalk entrance to Ardersier Common and progressing back in the direction of the village.
Scottish Water's Project Coordinator Paul Morley said: "We appreciate that the temporary closure of Stuart Street and the work itself has caused disruption to residents.
"Through the weekly progress updates we've produced, the drop-in sessions that have been held every Wednesday and by calling on residents as work progressed along the street, we have tried to keep everyone informed; and to address the issues and concerns raised with us.
"The focus of the site team and our contractor Morrison Construction since work began has been to complete the work quickly and to a high standard so that the period of disruption was as short as it could be; and so Stuart Street could re-open to normal traffic before the summer.
"I would particularly like to thank Stuart Street residents for their patience while work was taking place in the road. The infrastructure we are building is important to protect the environment and support economic development in the area, but we also want to show consideration for the local community while completing our work."
