Plans have been approved to build hundreds of new homes in Argyll and Bute.
Link Group's 'Dunbeg Development Corridor Masterplan' has been given the go-ahead by councillors, which will see 600 new houses built Dunbeg and Ganavan to transform the Dunbeg Corridor area into a family orientated, vibrant and sustainable rural place.
The first 75 'affordable' homes have already been completed on the site in partnership with Link's subsidiary West Highland Housing Association.
Along with a mix of houses, other features inckude creating a Gateway to Oban and the Isles which will act as a catalyst for shops, cafes, community uses and commercial activity. In addition, the development is designed to enhance the existing network of walking and cycle tracks in the area.
Colin Culross, Link Group's Director of Development and Asset Management said: "The approval of Link's Masterplan is highly significant step in delivering an exemplar, multi faceted, rural development which serves as an anchor point for priming both the required infrastructure and enabling Link's programme of 300 affordable homes to be completed by 2021.
"Link will continue to collaborate successfully with its strategic partners including the Scottish Government, Argyll & Bute Council, and Scottish Water as well as working with the local communities of Dunbeg and Ganavan to create a place that focuses on community and enhances the rich, rural environment."
