Lovell Partnerships has completed the first phase of homes at a major housing development in West Lothian.
The contractor is continuing work to build 230 new council houses at Kirkhill in Broxburn. The scheme includes a mix of 92 cottage flats, 105 houses and 33 accessible bungalows, as well as a range of one-bed flats to five-bed homes.
The project is part of an £111 million investment to deliver 1,000 new local authority homes across the county.
Speaking during a site visit this week, Council Leader John McGinty said: "The new homes look fantastic and we are delighted that tenants are now picking up their keys and moving in. This is the largest new build council housing site in Scotland and so many people, including local families, will benefit from these homes."
Councillor George Paul added: "The project is also delivering community benefits including apprenticeships for local, young people and opportunities for local businesses. More importantly the 1,000 new homes will help alleviate the shortage of affordable housing in West Lothian and provide much needed housing for generations to come."
