Raynesway Construction has completed work on a new £6 million link road in Renfrewshire.
The contractor built the new 1.45km road over a 12-month period as part of the Dargavel Village development in Bishopton.
The former Royal Ordnance Factory site is being transformed by BAE Systems and now contains 510 homes, with the work underway on the next phase of housing.
Over 320 workers were involved in the construction of the road, which included 20,000 cubic metres of recycled crushed concrete and brick, along with 7,700 tonnes of tarmac and 175 litres of paint. BAE Systems also installed 26 animal-friendly 'wildlife kerbs' along the length of the road.
Jon Gettinby, Bishopton Programme Manager, BAE Systems Shared Services said: "The construction of the link road has been a key focus for the team and our contractors over the past year.
"The opening of the road marks an important milestone in the ongoing development of Dargavel Village, connecting residents in the north and south of the development.
"It will also provide them with a direct route through the site which will help to alleviate traffic from the Bishopton village."
