The remaining section of a South Ayrshire beach has reopened following the removal of asbestos containing materials.
The council closed Prestwick Beach last month after asbestos fibres were discovered by investigators.
The main section of the beach was opened on 05 August after further analysis found the materials' risk to the public was negligible. Following further investigations, the entire beach has now reopened as of 12 August.
The discovered materials were later confirmed to be asbestos cement, a material more typically found in the likes of sheets used for roofing and wall cladding.
Cllr John McDowall said: "We're continuing to work closely with partners to find out where the material came from and there will be monthly inspections of the beach over the next three months (September, October, November) to remove any more material - we will then review our position.
"We'll also continue to work with the local community to address ongoing concerns about the level of rubble and stone on Prestwick Beach."
