A community energy initiative led by Bright Green Hydrogen has installed solar panels at a business energy park in Fife.
The photovoltaic panels were installed by Levenmouth Community Energy Project and are located on the roof of the Fife Renewables Innovation Centre in Methil.
The generated electricity will feed into a microgrid supplying a number of buildings in the business park. In addition, the green power will be used to produce hydrogen for energy storage and to fuel the hydrogen fleet.
George Archibald, Chief Executive at Bright Green Hydrogen, said:"I'm pleased to see the solar panels installed on Fife Renewable Innovation Centre; this is another major milestone in our project completed. The electricity the solar panels will generate is a vital part of the Levenmouth Community Energy Project."
Other partners in the project are Fife Council and Toshiba.
Councillor John Wincott added: "We're proud to be involved in this forward thinking project. Reliable, secure and affordable energy is important for Fife's communities and businesses.
"Just under a third of Scottish carbon emissions are related to transport, so we're keen to support work finding alternative low carbon energy sources."
