Planning permission has been granted for a new high school in Argyll.
The Scottish Government has advised Argyll and Bute Council that the application for the new £24m Oban High School will not be called for review.
The council's Planning, Protective Services and Licensing Committee were minded to grant permission in August.
However, it notified Scottish Ministers of a formal objection from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Councillor David Kinniburgh said: "We are delighted the Scottish Government has endorsed the decision of the planning committee."
The council is dedicating £13m to this project, with the remainder of the £24m being funded through the Scottish Government's Schools for the Future programme.
The project is being taken forward by Hub North Scotland in partnership with the council and will see the current school site undergo significant changes over the next three years.
The building will be developed on the grass rugby pitch at the current school site.
Once the new building is complete, pupils will move in and the old buildings will be demolished, freeing up much needed social space for pupils and improved bus drop-off and car parking provision.
