Moray Council has announced a former care home is to be demolished to make way for new housing.
The building, Bishopmill House, has been empty since the late 1990's.
It has only recently been used for emergency accommodation during local flooding events.
The dated premises are in poor condition and unsuitable for refurbishment due to costs.
Demolition proposals were approved at a council meeting on 16 September.
It is estimated the property's demolition will cost £130,000.
Estates Manager, Stuart Beveridge, said the demolished building's materials will be recycled and used for up-filling on council-owned land at Moycroft and Chanonry industrial estates.
He said: "This will save the council £22,000 in material costs compared to using new up-fill from a quarry, as well as over £11,000 in landfill costs."
