A £900,000 upgrade project to a reservoir has been completed by Scottish Water in Midlothian.
The works involved reforming the embankments at Glencourse Reservoir to prevent flooding during heavy rain, along with the replacement of valves and a refurbishment of parts of the dam structure.
A bench featuring wooden animal carvings was also unveiled at a popular gateway to the Pentland Hills.
Bill Elliot, Community Team Manager for Edinburgh and Midlothian, said: "Glencorse Reservoir dates to 1822 and can be used to provide additional supplies of drinking water to the people of Edinburgh and parts of Midlothian.
"We're very grateful to everyone for their patience while we carried out these important improvements to the reservoir."
