A giant palm tree sculpture has been unveiled in Glasgow.
Weighing almost two tonnes, the artwork was sculpted by Robert Coia and took five months to complete.
The piece, located in Linn Park, stands at over six metres tall and had to be installed in three sections.
It is one of 12 trees being placed as part of Glasgow council's commonwealth Games Legacy initiative, centring on twinning schools and parks in the city with Commonwealth countries.
Councillor Archie Graham said: "This sculpture is a remarkable piece of work; something that can be enjoyed by visitors to the park for years to come."
Castleton Primary pupils helped to create the sculpture by choosing stepping stones to be carved around its base.
