The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) has released a shortlist of architects to lead a restoration project on its Mackintosh Building.
The Mackintosh library was left badly destroyed in a fire in May 2014.
Around 200 firefighters tackled the blaze on 23 May. They managed to save 90% of the structure of the A-listed building and save around 70% of its contents, but serious damage was caused to the premises.
The GSA has now announced the architectural firms to lead the restoration.
The five-strong shortlist comprises of:
• Avanti Architects
• John McAslan + Partners
• LDN Architects LLP
• Page \ Park Architects
• Purcell.
The practices have now been invited to submit more detailed proposals on their approach to the restoration Mackintosh Building.
The presentations will take place in mid-March 2015, with the aim of appointing an architect later that month.
Liz Davidson, Mackintosh Restoration Project Director, GSA, said: "All of the shortlisted practices have a strong record in undertaking major restoration and work in historic buildings together with an impressive commitment to the use of new technology and the finest craftsmanship.
"They each bring the level of experience and expertise that is vital to the restoration of Mackintosh's masterpiece. We are now looking forward to hearing more about their proposed approaches."
