Aberdeen City Council has said up to £100,000 is to be set aside to help develop new and affordable creative spaces in the city.
The Creative Spaces Development Fund will be made available for those working in the creative industries, the local authority has said, and will meet the certain costs associated with the design and refurbishment of a studio, rehearsal and production spaces, and new equipment.
Councillor Jenny Laing, Leader of Aberdeen City Council, commented: "By providing a development fund, the Council will help create new studio, rehearsal and production space, support creative industry employment including graduate retention, develop a greater access to cultural activity, enhance the city's support of existing and future cultural initiatives.
"We have a wealth of creative people here in Aberdeen and by working with the arts sector we can create the right environment for this talent to live and work in the city."
The funding programme is also being supported by Creative Scotland Place Partnership. More information on the initiative can be found here.
Applications for potential funding are now open; the closing date for submissions is Friday 30 January, 2015.
