More than 100 homes in Dundee are to receive improved external insulation, after the local authority approved the relevant plans.
It is thought 108 homes in Arklay Street in the city will benefit from the project, valued at £638,000, under a scheme by utility providers, Dundee City Council and the Scottish Government.
It will help residents to save money on their fuel bills.
The Council has said it will contribute £183,962 to the works, with the remaining funds coming from a £2.4m grant from the Scottish Government's Home Energy Efficiency Programme.
John Alexander, Convener of Dundee City Council's Housing Committee, said: "Given the ever increasing cost of energy and the adverse impact of that on households in Dundee I am pleased that we are working with the Scottish Government and SSE to make real inroads into reducing the costs people face in heating their homes."
