Work to improve the natural environment of watercourses, as well as waste water infrastructure, has been completed by Scottish Water.
More than £3.4m has been invested in projects in Cambuslang and the south of Glasgow.
A number of schemes to improve the waste water network have been carried out in the Cathcart, Corkerhill, Pollokshaws and Thornliebank areas of Glasgow, while in Cambuslang, the environment on the White Cart Water and the River Clyde has been improved.
Contractor George Leslie carried out the work on behalf of Scottish Water.
Mark Maclaren, Scottish Water's regional communities team manager, said: "Scottish Water's investment in these parts of Glasgow and South Lanarkshire will deliver major environmental benefits for years to come and we know that local people will appreciate that any short-term inconvenience while this work was carried out will be far out-weighed by the long-term benefits to the environment that it will deliver."
