More than £220,000 in improvements has been announced for the Kirkcaldy area.
It is understood the projects will be funded by Fife Council's Town Centre Development Fund.
One of the schemes will involve work to a level of the Esplanade multi-storey car park. £175,000 will be spent to renovate the level that provides direct access to the Mercat Shopping Centre, while lighting improvements, bright coloured surfacing, wider parking bays and improved signage will also be carried out.
A further £47,000 will be spent on the steps at Bell Inn Wynd, or the 'Postings steps' as it is also known, and will see the steps and handrails replaced.
Neil Crooks, Chair of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: "People wanted to see improvements to the quality of Kirkcaldy's multi storey car parks. I'm happy that we can now deliver on this with a range of improvements to parking in the Esplanade multi storey car park.
"This proposal from Kirkcaldy's Ambitions Group already had Committee agreement and today we have established the detail. Improving facilities like this will help contribute to the wider efforts to encourage shoppers and visitors back into the town centre.
"This is the first award from Kirkcaldy's Town Centre Development Fund of £1m and I'm delighted that it is being used to greatly improve two prominent town centre facilities. Both of these sites are ones that have been highlighted by locals and the business community – it will be great to see the improvements being delivered on."
