Proposals for new care villages in the Glenrothes and Lumphinnans areas of Fife are to go out to public consultation, the local authority has said.
In Glenrothes, plans include the development of a 60-bed care home and day care centre on Napier Road which would replace the services currently provided at Alan McLure House and South Parks House. There would also be 30 one- and two-bedroom 'extra care' housing properties in a complex setting with communal facilities.
While in Lumphinnans, a similar care village has been proposed at a site on Cedar Crescent/Sycamore Crescent. The home would replace Jenny Gray House in Lochgelly and Valley House in Cowdenbeath.
The projects are part of Fife Council's 'Affordable Housing and Re-provision of Care for Older People' programmes and the planning application for the developments are currently being prepared.
As part of this process, the local authority is encouraging local residents to share their views to help shape the plans.
The drop-in events will be held on:
• Tuesday 15 April at The Whitehouse, Napier Road, Glenrothes, from 4pm to 7pm.
• Thursday 17 April at Lumphinnans Primary School, Classroom 6, from 4pm to 7pm.
