The latest 3G pitches to be installed in East Lothian have been officially opened.
The move marks the completion of 3G pitch provision in the area, the local authority has said, with the remaining three clusters in the county at Dunbar, North Berwick and Prestonpans.
Funding for the facilities was made available through East Lothian Council and sportscotland Sports Lottery funding. The Scottish Football Partnership, through its support to local clubs, is also a key delivery partner for the new pitches.
Tim Day, Cabinet spokesperson for Community Wellbeing, said: "I am delighted that East Lothian will be served across all of its clusters with a 3G pitch. These facilities really do make a significant difference to the quality of experience for both players and coaches and provide additional opportunities for improving performance.
"I would like to thank sportscotland for again supporting the council with the delivery of the 3G pitches and the Scottish Football Partnership for supporting local clubs and contributing to the overall delivery of the project."
Stewart Harris, Chief Executive of sportscotland, added: "The £600,000 investment from sportscotland has helped East Lothian Council to create three fantastic state-of-the-art pitches which will become a real asset for the entire region."
