Hundreds of properties in Falkirk could be set to benefit from a home energy efficiency initiative.
The £600k project is being funded by the Scottish Government under its Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland (HEEPS) and Scottish Hydro through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO).
It will aim to reduce household energy use and reduce energy costs.
Homeowners or tenants living in privately rented accommodation, and who are in receipt of certain benefits, may be eligible for free energy efficiency measures. The measures include new boilers, loft and cavity wall insulation.
It is understood the funding could benefit more than 300 homes in the area.
Commenting on the proposals, Councillor Gerry Goldie, Falkirk Council's spokesperson for Housing said: "Targeting those who are struggling most with their energy requirements is a big priority for us and this scheme will help anything up to 300 properties in the local area. We'd encourage everyone to see what other schemes and benefits are available that could help them to reduce energy costs."
David Smith, Area Development Manager at Scottish Hydro added: "Many people are not aware that these schemes are available so it's vital that we get the message out loud and clear.
"Elderly homeowners and families on low incomes are amongst the groups that could receive these free energy efficiency measures which could help reduce both household energy use and heating bills. We are also working closely with health and care professionals in the local area to help identify those who need this help most.
"I urge everyone to check the eligibility criteria as their home may benefit from this scheme."
