Perth and Kinross Council has said restoration and improvement works in Blair Atholl are to commence this week.
Work will start on 10 January 2014, and will see the enhancement of the public realm in the village.
The project is being delivered as part of a £300,000 fund which has been secured through Historic Scotland's Conservation and Regeneration Scheme (CARS), plus additional funding from the local authority.
The programme of works, which started in April 2009 and runs until March 2014, has already seen a number of improvements carried out in Blair Atholl in partnership with the local community, Atholl Estates, the Cairngorms National Park Authority and Scottish Enterprise. It has included work on the village Lade and Blair Atholl Country Life Museum, as well as the refurbishment and conversion of the former rangers building into a visitor information facility as part of a new Gateway Centre for the Cairngorms National Park.
Also included in the project is Blair Atholl's B-listed village hall, which will be given new lime mortar pointing, replacement guttering and pipework, and restoration to the windows. Landscaping works will also focus on reusing derelict land for parking, improving the frontage of the Atholl Arms Hotel and small-scale measures to help define the road boundaries along the edge of the village.
The latest part of the programme is scheduled to last for 10 weeks.
