Progress is continuing on a scheme to regenerate the historic centre of Kirriemuir town centre, it has been revealed.
Last week, a meeting of the CARS steering group heard a progress update report from the CARS project officer, Karen West, on the priority projects.
The Kirriemuir Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) is a £1.1m five-year project of heritage-led regeneration, which has been funded by Angus Council and Historic Scotland.
The scheme focuses on improving the historic buildings located within the burgh and bringing them back into use.
Launched earlier this year, the scheme will fund improvements to specific properties in the town's conservation area which are prominent or of architectural or historic interest and are currently either vacant or partially vacant.
Small grants are also available to property owners for shop front improvements and other external repairs to the public elevations including repairs to historic features such as rainwater goods, windows and stonework.
Funds may cover up to 85% of eligible works to a maximum grant of £20,000.
