Councillors in Aberdeen are to discuss a request from the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust in relation to Grey Mill.
Grey Mill is Scotland's oldest iron-framed mill and forms part of the Broadford Works site.
It is considered to be the most important building on the site, which is made up of the largest concentration of A-listed buildings at risk in the country.
This week, members of the Enterprise, Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Committee are expected to consider a request for a £15,000 contribution for an options appraisal of the Grey Mill. The site, which has not been in use since 2004, is in need of urgent regeneration.
It is hoped that an options appraisal of the Grey Mill will lead not only to its restoration, but also to a use that is beneficial to the people of Aberdeen.
The options appraisal will include a full condition survey of the building, exploration of potential end uses and users, design and estimated costs for potential uses, valuation, community consultation and the production of a final report.
The options appraisal has already secured funding from the Architectural Heritage Fund (£10,000), Historic Scotland, (£7,500), the Aberdeen City Heritage Trust (£7,500) and site owner First Construction Ltd (£7,500).
