North Lanarkshire Council has said proposals for new cycle routes from Airdrie, Holytown and Bellshill are to be displayed as part of a consultation exercise.
The planned routes would provide links into the key business areas of Eurocentral, Biocity, Newhouse Industrial Estate and Strathclyde Business Park.
Additional cycle and walking links are also proposed from the rail stations in Airdrie, Holytown and Bellshill.
As part of the consultation, the local authority would like locals to share their views on the routes. Staff from the council and from Dutch firm Royal HaskoningDHV Consultancy, which carried out a study into the routes for the council, will be present at the meeting.
The consultation will be held in Airdrie Library on 12 September from 12.30pm to 6.30pm, with the display staying in the library until 17 September.
Councillor James Coyle, Convener of the Planning and Transportation Committee, said: "We have already carried out an initial consultation on the plans for a cycle route which indicated considerable interest in the idea and, as a result, we have extended the study area to take in Holytown, Mossend and Bellshill.
"Now we're moving forward with more detailed plans and are keen to hear from local people who would be interested in cycling to and from work if the facilities were there."
