Falkirk Council has said plans to improve and increase the level of social housing in the area is continuing to progress.
The news comes after the local authority approved plans for almost 550 homes to be delivered in the region by 2018.
The Council will build 104 new homes in a number of areas and it is hoped that around 100 more additional 'buyback' properties – i.e. Former Council homes sold back to the Council – will be secured.
Working with registered social landlords, the Council will see a further 317 homes provided locally, with 27 more provided through an initiative with the National Housing Trust.
Funding for the projects will be delivered via existing Council funds plus new funds through the Scottish Government.
Councillor Gerry Goldie, spokesperson for Housing, said: "Providing low cost affordable housing to rent is a big priority for Falkirk Council.
"Our own developments and those of our partners are built to a high standard and are designed for those in most housing need."
