Plans to construct a major hotel and leisure complex in Glasgow have been put on hold, the BBC has reported.
The DeVere Group had planned to begin work on building a £20m "village urban resort" at Pacific Quay in the city.
Initially, it hoped to start the project in May, but the firm has said work will not commence until the new year. It explained the delay was down to it "still awaiting certain permits".
In a statement, DeVere said: "Unfortunately the hotel is still awaiting certain permits that prevent construction from commencing.
"This delay was unforeseen and has taken longer than initially expected.
"However De Vere remains confident that construction will begin early in the new year."
The development is one of three hotels the firm is planning to open in Scotland, underneath its "village urban resort" brand. The site at Glasgow includes a leisure centre and a 120-bedroom hotel.
The others are scheduled for Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
